How Can I Have a Personal Relationship With Jesus?

The Bible gives us the following instructions on how to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

Admit to God that you are a sinner. Sin is disobedience toward God’s commands.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God — Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. — Romans 6:23

  • Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He lived a perfect life without sin, in order to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. That He was buried and rose again on the third day, victorious over sin.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. — I Corinthians 15:3-4
  • Confess Jesus as Lord and Savior by praying and inviting Him into your life to be your Lord and Savior.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. — Romans 10:9
